There was a good crowd that day in the shopping center, all living their lives as best as they can since the world was falling apart around them and it was a struggle to keep smiling when the threat of losing to the shadows was so near. Lina hummed to herself as she browsed through the selection of woman’s clothes, looking for something new to replace the worn and outgrown outfits she gave away. She made sure to keep an eye on her brother, Lydi, since he despised shopping and was only here to keep her from buying embarrassing clothing. To tell the truth, Lina wouldn’t do that to her big brother… okay, she would have got him one thing as a gag gift, but to hide all his clothes and force him to wear a pink dress would have been too cruel. Lina loved her brother too dearly to make him suffer like that. If she wouldn’t wear a pink dress, since the color really didn’t look good on her and she’d rather wear shorts and t-shirts since they were more travel-ready, then Lydi shouldn’t either. But he didn’t need to know that, since it was the only thing keeping him in the men’s section of looking for an article or two to satisfy and eliminate the threat that was his little sister. Lina sometimes wondered how they could survive in the same room together, but by some miracle of Arceus they have and Lina wasn’t complaining.

Lydian was not usually the sort who would go shopping of his own free will. He hated crowds and he didn't see the difference in most of the fashion styles, and considering that his own wardrobe wasn't in that bad of shape - in his mind at any rate - he didn't think there was any real reason for him to have been dragged out. He was sulking a little as he stood in the men's section, a scowl turning down his face and a general aura of displeasure that was strong enough to keep people away from him. He wanted to be home, preferably with his door locked and the windows tightly shut: His awakening this morning via a bright fireball into his room had him tired enough to be much more irritable than usual, and he wasn't the most patient of people to begin with. In fact, it was entirely likely that the next person to bother him would soon be getting acquainted with his teeth, and not in a good way either. He probably would have just thrown a Swift at Lina and rolled back over originally except that she had threatened him with a pink dress. A growl rumbled in the back of his throat at the very thought of it, and his crimson eyes narrowed immediately. If there were ever two things that the elder Bellecourt sibling did not do, it was pink and dresses, and he would be damned if he let his sister ever change such a thing, period, end of story.

I'm sorry, Lydi, I truly am. Here's a Lina to make it aaaaallll better~

Lina grinned happily as she raised the black t-shirt to inspect, Danny the Fennekin yipping for her attention. Giving a pleased hum she knelt down to pet her starter loving. “Good eye, Danny. This shirt is perfect!” Coupled with the attractive red beret she found while Danny was sniffing around in his version of a hunt, Lina was happy with the selection enough to leave the clothing section and get Lydi for much needed grocery shopping. It wasn’t hard to find him, since he barely moved from his spot since they got here. She would have been mad about the fact if he hadn’t selected something – was that a shirt? – to add to his small wardrobe. “Glad to see this wasn’t a wasted trip~” she commented cheekily, smiling sweetly as only little sister could. “Let’s pay for all these and head over to get the groceries! We’re running low on things.” Mostly meat, but Lina knew Lydi knew she meant that mostly. Taking his hand despite his protests she lead the way to the cashier, Danny trotting close side her.

Lydian was sulking and glaring at a steel mannequin while he contemplated the pros and cons of destroying it to calm his anger, but then he heard a small crash, and he turned his head to see what had happened only for his glare to soften slightly at the sight. He had taken Medusa out with him to try to get the Deino a little more used to him, and the dual type had been on edge almost the entire time they'd been outside of the apartment he shared with his sister; she must have wandered off while he was busy scowling at the clothes, and she'd gone browsing, judging by the black fishnet shirt that had fallen over her head. Still, as soon as she'd figured out which way was up, the little Pokemon collected the garment in her mouth and trotted over to him, offering it up with a hopeful gleam in her eye. He sighed quietly as he took it from her, mind turning as his crimson gaze looked past the fabric in his hands. She had no doubt remembered the way his gaze had lingered on that one boy who had winked at him the last time his sister had dragged him out, and she was only trying to cheer him up by giving him the black fishnet shirt, not realizing that it wasn't even remotely anything that her Trainer preferred to wear. He was startled out of his thoughts by the sound of his sister's voice, and immediately he scowled. "Brat," he growled, huffing even as she took his arm and started tugging him up to the register. It took him a moment to realize what exactly she had said, but as soon as the words clicked, he let out a loud growl, stiffening. "What!" he hissed, glaring daggers at her. "You never said anything about groceries!" He hadn't been expecting a longer outing, he'd thought it was just some clothes and then they'd be done! Why did Lina never tell him these things until there was no chance for him to back out of them?
