Holidays are Stupid Anyway [Mod]

Lydian sniffed delicately, striding through the snow and wrapping his violet scarf more tightly around his neck. Ugh, he hated it when it was cold. Usually he wouldn't have ventured out of his home during these months, but well... the rewards had been quite tempting. He would get to train and exchange whatever the hell the Pokemon gave up when they fainted for some rewards. "Rebel, come on," he urged, turning his head to glare lightly at the Froakie that was scampering along behind him; not that Rebel flinched anymore, the Water-type more than used to his Trainer's mood swings and well aware that they were more to cover the gentleness lurking within his heart anyway. The Froakie had been at the Umbreon Pokemorph's side when the shadows had fallen over the land and trapped them both. He understood why the young man was the way he was. Of course, in comparison, Medusa wasn't quite comfortable with Lydian's demeanor quite yet, and it wasn't hard to see why either. The little Deino had been purchased with some of Lydian's spare money, and it was obvious that she hadn't quite been expecting to have such a grumpy Trainer. Still, the male was trying to accommodate her, and she was slowly getting used to him, and that was what counted, right? Or at least, that was how she saw it, sitting perched up on a log a little ways ahead of the both of them, the little dragon bundled up with an old black scarf that her Trainer had dug up for her out of a closet to try to make the outing bearable for her, well aware of how weak Dragon-types were to ice. "Be ready, you two," Lydian muttered as he crested the small hill over to the log, his head turned to the side so that Rebel too could hear him, his breath huffing out to crystallize in the air in front of him. "We don't know what's out here... so be ready for a fight." Both of them nodded, though Rebel rolled his eyes. He was more than capable of putting up a good fight and Lydian would be stupid to think anything less of him.

Despite the grumpy mood of the trainer before him one pokemon seemed to be having one hell of a good time in the cold winter air. Though, that was to be expected since the pokemon was in fact a ice type with a real holiday spirit. She was a delibird after all and she was a true sign that the holidays were active and ready to be shared with everyone even if the people out here didn't feel the same way. The holiday pokemon was trying really hard to give out presents, but since she never knew if it would help or hurt who she offered it to she was often times ignored. Honestly, it broke her heart that no one wanted her gifts. Even she got depressed after all, she was allowed to have feelings too wasn't she? The female delibird kicked the ground lightly with her little feet before she heard noises up ahead. Oh? Someone else had come ? Maybe they would want some of her presents. Suddenly happy again, the little female quickly scurried ahead to find a young man and his two pokemon that had come here. She gave a little squeak of glee as she pulled out one of her presents and quickly rushed toward them not really thinking about the fact that well.. they probably weren't here to share her gifts. So suddenly she tripped and her present went flying as it exploded just a few inches in front of the group. Oops. She hadn't meant to do that, but now the group was probably angry at her weren't they? Oh dear oh dear, what was a delibird to do?

Lydian was scowling and Rebel hopping around at his side when it happened. There was suddenly an explosion of snow right in front of him, and he let out a cry, stumbling back a few steps and falling on his ass right into a snowdrift, thrown off-balance by the Froakie's leap into his arms. Medusa, further ahead, turned at the sound of the explosion, letting out a cry and scampering off the log towards her Trainer. She nudged him, headbutting Rebel off his chest gently, and earned herself a pat on the head. "I'm fine, Medusa," he muttered, brushing the snow off himself as he got back up to his feet, shivering slightly and trying to flap out most of the cold from his clothing. Crimson eyes scoured the landscape, looking for the source of the chaos that had just gone on around them. A Delibird. A Delibird had just tried to kill them. He whistled, gaining the attention of both the Froakie and the Deino that had come out with him. "Let's go, Medusa," he murmured in a low voice, something that made her pause, looking up at him through the fringe of black. "Give the bird a taste of your Dragon Rage." She blinked but nodded, firming herself up and then running at the bird, feeling blue flames - heatless, mind you - building themselves up around her maw before she fired them off, her Dragon Rage attack aiming towards the bird that had tossed the present at her Trainer. No one was going to get away with hurting Lydian on her watch! Rebel, meanwhile, yawned and decided to climb up onto his Trainer's shoulder after he extracted himself from the snowdrift. He understood that this wasn't his time to fight, but he didn't exactly like it either. He instead huddled himself against the male's back, wondering if they'd have the chance to go back and warm up soon. He rather hoped so, training out here in the cold was going to be downright miserable.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear! She hadn't been trying to hurt them! A-All she had wanted was that they spend some time with her for the holidays. She had been told that the holidays were supposed to be the best with people. So, she just wanted someone to spend the holidays with since she didn't have someone of her own to take of her. So when the other gave her an angry expression she slowly backed up. She tried to wiggle her arms some trying to tell them she hadn't meant anything buy it. She wasn't really a fighter after all so fighting wasn't in her best interest. Though that signal went unnoticed or maybe uncared for. She wasn't quite sure about the answer to that one. Instead the man sent the deino at her in a vengeance. She quickly tried to flee when the dragon type came at her but she was not the best of runners either as she tripped on her own feet as the dragons attack hit. A quick squeak came from her now but this one was in pain as the attack landed. Thankfully it wasn't all that effective as she quickly turned around and stared at the dragon in fear. Out of that fear the penguin like pokemon quickly dug in her bag and quickly through a present at the pokemon.

Medusa felt vaguely bad for attacking the Delibird. She could tell that it didn't seem very offensive, and in fact, it seemed rather sweet, all in all. It looked like it had really been an accident that the whole thing had gone down like it had. She had a rather sheepish expression on her face, wishing that Lydian hadn't told her to fight the bird but unable to bring herself quite yet to face the rather volatile Umbreon Pokemorph directly, she had opted to attack. Maybe that was why, when the present soared at her, she merely cocked her head to the side, slightly confused. "Gah, Rebel, get off! Your pads are cold!" Lydian growled, wrestling with the Froakie for a few moments more before he finally managed to peel the Water-type off of himself, scowling at the Pokemon as he shoved it over onto the ground, looking up just in time to see the second present arching its way over to Medusa. "Medusa, dodge it!" he yelled, making the Deino snap out of its stupor and leap out of the way, barely dodging the second explosion. "Now follow it up with a Tackle attack." The Deino landed with a sigh, an apology in her gaze as she ran forward, lowering her head as she got closer, reaching a decent speed to ram into the Delibird's side with some good force behind the Tackle. She hoped that the other Pokemon wouldn't have to fight for long before going down. She didn't want to make the poor bird suffer any longer than she absolutely had to. It just didn’t seem right, not when she was already going to have to attack despite the fact that she was fairly certain that the first present to explode had been an accident. But then, Lydian didn’t seem to know much about right or wrong when it came to battling, a result of the time he’d spent in the shadowed region before being brought back to the Romantic Isles. It wasn’t a time that her Trainer would talk about… but she knew enough to be certain that it hadn’t been kind to him.

T-this wasn't going well was it? She hadnt meant to hurt the others and well now she was suffering for something that she really didn't understand. So the little penguin pokemon was quickly put in a situation that was out of her control. Or at least, to the point that she wasn't very used to being suddenly challenged to a battle that she herself hadnt' asked or tried to start. This wasn't a great situation was it. So when the dieno dodged her present a small whimper came from her. This wasn't ever going to end was it? She squeaked quietly as the dieno suddenly started to come after her again thanks to her trainers command. It was however, aware that the pokemon at least seemed to realize that this had all been a pathetic attempt to make friends and was a complete accident. The female delibird was ready for the attack this time and jumped on her tummy sliding on the snow to dodge the incoming attack. This time she was a little less weary of throwing another present attack at the dragon pokemon. It didn't seem like she was going to be able to get out of this awful situation without a fight. Even if she, herself, didn't really want to fight the trainer.
