POKEMORPHS,
PRESENTED BY PROFESSOR JUNIPER
PRESENTED BY PROFESSOR JUNIPER
"Hi there! No doubt Rowan sent you over my way to explain what Sycamore and I call Pokemorphs, so I'm going to just jump straight to the point and hop to it! "You know how everyone has a spirit animal? Well, in this case, it's spirit Pokemon. Inside everyone slumbers a Pokemon with great power. It's a shame that it took the world falling to shadow for this ability to come to the surface, but there's nothing to do about it. "Now I'm sure you're wondering what species of Pokemorph you are; your Pokedex will easily identify you to yourself, as well as be able to pick up the species of others, but an easy indicator will be hair color. The dominant color of the Pokemon's fur or scales or hair or what have you will be your own hair color! Younger people are, naturally, going to have less evolved Pokemon than elders, though that's no guarantee for older people. You may not see a five year old Dragonite, but you certainly could very well see a fifty year old Caterpie. "Which also reminds me. There seems to only be up to four Pokemorphs for every species and only one shiny Pokemorph spot for each species. If there are four Umbreons, there isn't going a shiny Umbreon; the same goes for if there's only one Pikachu, if it's a shiny Pikachu, there's not going to be a second shiny Pikachu. "There also don't seem to be any Pokemorphs that are legendary Pokemon. I don't know whether it's because they don't happen or because they haven't been discovered yet, but either way, there aren't any legendary Pokemorphs running around either. "On another note, you'll have the ability to shapeshift, as it were. While in the lightened areas, such as the Isle of Morpheus, you won't be able to adopt what Sycamore and I call your "Pokemorph" form, though it's really more like your Pokemon form. You will still be able to fight normally if you want to, which I'm sure is a relief for you. It's in the shadowed areas that things change: you'll be able to take the form of your Pokemorph species for ten turns out of every twenty, something handy for if you want to get into some difficult areas or talk to some of the native Pokemon for information. The native species of the area know a little more than you might think, and some of them might even decide to travel with you if you talk to them! "No matter what form you take though, you'll be able to use any naturally learned moves by your Pokemorph species or its prior evolutions. You will have one ability of said species, and you'll be able to fight just like a Pokemon is. Your relative level will automatically be five higher than whatever you're fighting, so be careful taking on those stronger than you are! Sadly, however, you aren't able to evolve no matter how hard you try, but the good news is that we've recently figured out a way to download technical and hidden machine moves into your mind, so you can learn those too! "Oh, and one last thing! You aren't going to sprout wings or horns or strange ears or a tail or anything like that in your human form. What happens for those other attacks like Fly or Iron Tail, the like, is that a spiritual tail or wings or whatever will appear so that you can perform the attack and then disappear. Handy, huh?" | |
