BATTLES,
PRESENTED BY PROFESSOR ROWAN
PRESENTED BY PROFESSOR ROWAN
"I can see by the look in your eyes that you're wanting to find out how to fight. All right then, I'll explain it to you. "As you well know, every Pokemon has a level. Stronger levels result in stronger Pokemon, and the quickest way to get stronger Pokemon is to battle. Every time you battle with a single Pokemon, you get two levels, no matter if you win or lose or call it a stalemate. If you double battle, meaning you're fighting with two Pokemon at once, they only receive one level each no matter the outcome. You can also feed a Pokemon a Rare Candy, which the new recipe awards three levels instead of just one! Handy, no? "Now what happens when you win or lose? When you lose, nothing. You won't pay money to anyone or lose levels or anything; you just have to get stronger so that you can put up a better fight next time. When you win, however, your given experience doubles. In short, a victory levels your Pokemon four levels for if you're fighting solo and two if you're fighting double. "Now to address stats. Each Pokemon's stats will vary from the next - your Pokedex has some links to some sources, which the applications to figure that out are located here, here, and here. That being said, however, each Pokemon has its own standards and threshold to keep fighting, so sometimes it's a little easier to just go with your best estimate! Also, each Pokemon can learn eight moves through leveling, in addition to an unlimited number of moves taught by technical or hidden machines. "Every turn, as it were, consists of some combination of two actions. You can attack twice, dodge once, or attack and dodge once each. Using an item also takes up one turn, so be wary. Each Pokemon or Trainer has its own individual turn, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. "And of course, this is not including your own abilities. I'm rather miffed to admit that I don't know a whole lot about those, Sycamore and Juniper being the ones who've spent the most time researching the new abilities, so I'd recommend you ask one of them to fill you in. You seem to governed by the same general rules as your Pokemon though, so no worries there. "And that's how you fight now. Any questions?" | |
