Nix Night

Today was colder than the day before had been but nix had woken up early, maybe that was it. The girl had snow in her hands now and was walking back to the little shelter she had made on the island to find bubbles sitting under a branch with his paws up to the fire she had made for them both. He looked up at her as she walked back and she smiled, he seemed warmer now. They had slept under a fallen tree for the night that nix had covered in leaves but it had been very cold, they had slept wrapped together so starting this fire had been very good for them.

Nix moved to her rucksack and pulled out a small pan and then dumped in her collection of snow in to it before bubbles took it from her hand, earning a smile from his trainer. The pokemon moved over to the fire and held it over to melt the snow down while nix pulled a pair of gloves from her bag and yanked them on to her hands, now going blue in the cold. Their battle yesterday had been wonderful fun but nix felt tired now and she was sure bubbles did too. Though he didnt seem it, he seemed fine. But he also had slept in longer than her, it was why she had gone for snow rather than ask him for water gun help. Ahh well, today would bring whatever it could bring

A HOLIDAY POKEMON HAS APPEARED!

LAMPENT FIRE / GHOST MALE FLASH FIRE LEVEL 12 EMBER ASTONISH MINIMIZE SMOG FIRE SPIN CONFUSE RAY -- --

The Lampent awoke to the sensation of wet on his head. Blinking, he shook his head from side to side, the flame flickering with the movement, but he was careful to keep it from going out, knowing that a large part of his life force was tied towards keeping it lit. He had vague memories of a time before then, when he wasn't quite so reliant on whether or not he could manage to keep a flame alive. All Ghost-types did. He could remember having hands and arms and legs and feet once, a long time ago, but it was hard recollecting those times, like trying to look into a mirror that was fogged up no matter how many times a hand would wipe it clean. He mostly tried to forget them, to be entirely honest, but that was something else that he would muse about, what it was like to be something else. It was too confusing to wonder about what once was, he'd much rather focus on what his present was now. Much more productive that way, and he was nothing if not a practical thinker. He tapped into his abilities to float himself up over the snow, his flame lighting the snow a little ways ahead of him much like a car's headlights or a flashlight would. The sun was up high enough by this point that he didn't need it to see anymore, but since it wasn't something that he could turn on and off like the humans could their lighting fixtures, he made do with seeing its glare reflect back off the snow. He paused, though, at the sight of a second set of flames flickering off the snow, and he huffed softly, floating over to it curiously. Was it another Litwick or Lampent, or was it some trick from a Chinchou? He had been feeling the loss of another pretty keenly, so it'd be nice for him to travel with someone else once again.

Nix Night

Nix moved herself so she could sit next to the fire and then pulled both bubbles and the pan he held in to her lap, the little pokemon wriggled for a moment before giving in and handing the pan over to his trainer. Nix laughed a little at this and held the pan over the warm fire and watched as it melted down in to a sort of slush in just a few seconds, better to leave it to boil off and get everything nasty out of it before she drank it though. She held it for a little longer and her mind began to wander as she did so, her eyes wandering over the tree line before a little light caught her glance. She turned her head to really look at it and then tilted her head a bit, it looked like a candle. But a candle out here in this weather wouldn't be of any use and surely would have gone out by now, maybe it was someone else with a fire. She lifted her free hand and waved over in the direction but didn't shout out, if it was a person they might be scared of by that. Or even if they had a pokemon with them she might scare them off and that was even worse! She moved herself and let bubbles jump down again before handing him the pan, something met with a happy nod before he turned back to the fire to take over his water duty again. Nix herself now moved to kneel up in the hope she could spot whoever it was over there, if they were using a candle they couldnt have much on their side to help them so maybe she could help them herself. If they let her of course

Of all the things that the Lampent had expected in these parts, a human was certainly not one of them. The dual-type hovered in the air a moment, bobbing slightly as he paused to consider everything, and then with a soft sound, he ducked down, allowing himself to sink down to rest on the snow. Call him a coward, but he wasn't sure what to do with humans. He may have been one of them once, sure, but that was a long time ago, and back in a time that he couldn't remember. Would it even be fair for him to say that he once was human given that he couldn't remember it? He tried to rationalize it in his head, but he couldn't. He just got too confused, and it made his head hurt, and then he realized that his flame was flickering, and with a soft sound, he turned his attention back to trying to shelter the small fire. Wait a minute. Wait just a minute here. What was he doing cowering in a snowbank like some newly-hatched Togepi? He was big, brave, and strong, he wasn't afraid of some human. Puffing himself up and flaring his flame a little as a result, he nodded to himself determinedly as he lifted himself up out of the snow. He was a Ghost Pokemon, he would be perfectly fine to go and associate himself with a human, scare them a little. Grinning to himself a little, he waved around slightly, swaying in a small arc as if he was being carried by some human, even if he didn't advance. So what if he was messing with the human? He felt like messing around with them, and if they didn't like it, then they could take it up with his Confuse Ray.

Nix Night

Nix moved around on her knees as the light ahead of her seemed to fade away a little bit and she gave a sigh, part of her wanted to stay here besides bubbles to keep him warm and safe but the rest of her was just begging to so and see if that was a person. If they were and their candle or fire or whatever was going out then she wanted to help, it was just eating her up. "Urg, stuff it" she said with a hiss before she pushed her hands in to the snow and stood up, the snow fell away from her combats as she lowered a hand to dust it from her. The last thing she wanted was to get over to someone and be freezing cold from melting snow herself, that would be just stupid. She turned to look back at bubbles who was now looking at her both worried and a little confused and she smiled kindly, "I'll be back in just a little while, i have to see if thats a person and if so, if they need help" she said with a little reassuring nod. She started to walk forwards before the light was there again, but moving now. "What the heck?" she said in s soft voice as she walked forwards slowly, it looked like someone was swinging the candle now but who would do that? That would put it out surely...

Everything was going better than he had expected it to. He was swaying gently, the way that a lantern would with each successive step when gripped in a man's hand, and he kept his flame with a steady flare and retreat, as if the slight wind that he would be getting through the cracks between the metal mechanism and the glass was harrying the flame. That was one of those snippets that he had remembered from the time as a human, the way that a lantern would react when carried, and even if he didn't remember exactly why he held that foggy snippet of memory, he wasn't going to question either since it made his fun all the more convincing for his efforts. The human was getting closer to him, and that had him thinking. He would have to figure out whether he wanted to remain where he was and hope that the cold would drive her off before she saw him and ruined the prank, or whether he wanted to start retreating slowly, if only to prolong his fun. Though all fun had to come to an end eventually, he was rather reluctant to just let the whole thing go and have himself get discovered, even if that was quite the feasible option. There was only so much entertainment that could be found on the isle of Festiva, after all, and he wanted to make sure that he could enjoy all of it before the opportunity was gone once more. That was why he made his decision to slowly start moving backwards, away from the human. She'd catch him eventually, of that he had no doubt... but he'd enjoy a nice bit more fun before that happened.
