Nix Night

Nix stood on the very edge of the bridge, where dark turned to light and the reverse should she step forwards a little. She really wanted to go in to this new area and she also really didnt, how could she find her sister here? Well she did have bubbles with her this time and that was something, the little pokemon was small but he was sweet and he was caring. He understood and had found out new things since coming to this new place and he understood she needed a little care and yet he also really loved being babied by the girl. And, as much as she wanted to hide it from others, nix liked being able to baby him too.

She looked up from her place on the bridge and then sighed to herself, she wanted to walk over there but she also had pokemon in her mind she wanted on her team and she had been told a shiny ralts would never appear in the dark. Which blew a big hole in the plan she had, the shinx, deerling and the Amaura she wanted was rare enough any ways so that would be an issue for later. Besides, the red head was worried about this change she had heard of. Would she just step in to the dark and change in to a pokemon then and there? Or did she decide? She didnt even know she could until she got to the islands and she was worried about what it might do, though playing with fire was an amusing draw for her. Her mind was snapped from its thoughts as bubbles gave a mewing sound and she turned her gaze to look at him, though his gaze was trained to the other side of the bridge where it seemed something was coming

[Hibiki Tsukiko]

Hibiki had messed up, and he'd messed up badly. He hadn't meant to upset his Piplup, the Water-type had been his companion for many years, but he always managed to forget one very important part of what his partner insisted upon as something integral to their relationship: that the Trainer never refer to her by her childhood nickname of "Sparkie". He let out a yelp, dodging a spray of water as agilely as he could on his Vaporeon paws. "I said I was sorry!" he called, his body stretching out as he made a run for the bridge, his mission to find Evan detoured in favor of attempting to pacify his volatile partner. His fin of a tail streaked out behind him, providing a good amount of air resistance to slow him back down again, meaning he was only just barely keeping ahead of the chittering Piplup. When the large dark curtain got close enough, he could have wept from relief, barely breaking stride as he shifted back to his human form, grabbing the rucksack that he'd hidden behind a rock and tumbling through the darkness with a slight shiver. His sapphire eyes fell onto a figure standing near the curtain, and hearing Sparkle let out a frustrated cry, he hurried over towards her, comically trying to shield himself behind the young woman, who was smaller than he was. "Save me!" he cried, trying to fend off the streams of water aimed at him with his hands. "Sparkle's gone rouge!" The little Piplup spluttered in disbelief at her idiot Trainer, immediately turning to the redhead to argue her case, making movements with her fins as she spoke, just like a person would when they would speak with their hands. Too bad she seemed to forget that humans couldn't understand her...

Nix Night

Nix had not seen this coming, and never would have. She stood and watched as a man, much older than her, came running with a piplup hot in pursuit. And she did not seem happy! The girl started the she was used as a shield from the angry water type and then came the chattering from the little thing, clearly upset about something. "Er, bub. Lil help?" she said with a glance down to her oshawott who stood there as confused as she was, his eyes watching the angry penguin as she spoke to his trainer. He shook of the dazed face and then stepped in front of her, his paws waving to try and calm her and get some sense out of the girl.

Nix took this moment to step to one side and let the man behind her either fall forwards or catch himself and stand, his reliefs would pick which. She had seen him change as he moved, his clothes and hair simply seemed to be there and ready as he changed form and that had been something she was really worried about. It eased her to know it would work out alright when she did decide to make her first change, though she didn't know if she felt up to doing that any time soon. She looked down at him and his strange eyes and she tilted her head to one side, she had never really been around others much and here was someone diving behind her to hide. Though her defensive side was burning, a small pokemon like piplup didn't strike her as a threat. She figured she had been trodden on or something small and silly like that, not that she was making any sense of the explanation being given to her. Bubbles was getting that bit, and trying to return words to calm her but his words could do nothing. The male had upset her, so he had to fix it. Or that was what the otter thought he had put across, he wasn't good with words. he was young after all

[Hibiki Tsukiko]

Sparkle didn't even miss a beat as she then turned to her fellow Water-type, continuing right along with her lecture about how her Trainer was an absolute moron, but Hibiki was just glad that she'd stopped shooting water at him. "Thanks for that!" he chirped cheerfully, a grin on his face. Of course, it was more out less that moment that she moved, and he let out a little yelp as he then tumbled to the ground in a heap, the only reason his face avoided contact with the steel of the bridge being the fact that he had thrown his arms out to catch himself. Still, as he popped back up into a sitting position, it was obvious that the fall hadn't altered his cheerful outlook. "Sorry about that, she just tends to get huffy with me sometimes." He leaned over, scooping up the little penguin into his arms, ignoring her huff and pout complete with crossed fins and a sulk turning down her beak. "I'm Hibiki, and this little ball of joy is Sparkle." He tried to tickle the Piplup's belly, but she was still irritated with his slip-up, so she just snapped at his fingers grumpily, beak only barely missing the retreating fingers - he was well aware of her tricks by this point, so there was little she could do to surprise him anymore. "So what's your name?"

Nix Night

Now bubbles was a peaceful pokemon, he liked to fix problems between others but this was a little unsettling. Her words were aggressive and insulting and yet the male hidden behind his trainer seemed so nice, he didnt get it. He took the words with a few kind mews and then a paw to pat her on the back before she was lifted up in to her trainers arms. Nix on the other hand was trying to hide a small smile as the man fell forwards and caught himself, though he seemed cherry enough about this whole thing.

He lifted his pokemon and introduced them both after thanking her and nix merely smiled in return before reaching a hand out to bubbles, the little oshawott knew his cue. He lifted himself in to her hand and then climbed her arm, not in the most graceful way, to sit on her shoulder. A little wave was all he felt he needed for an introduction and nix chuckled at him for it, "Nice to meet you both, this is bubbles and im Nix" she said with a nod and a wave of her hand of the water type with her. She watched the other two interact and part of her wanted to know her pokemon the way he clearly knew his but then again, knowing when to move so not to be pecked at wasn't really something to hope for. "Can i ask what you did to upset her? She didn't seem most happy there for a moment" nix inquired with a glance to the pokemon in his arms, to be honest, she still didn't look all that happy

"Oh stop sulking, Spar, you know I didn't mean it," Hibiki murmured, fingers skillfully finding one of her favorite spots to be pet, and he smiled when he felt her muscles start to uncool from where she sat in his lap. Chuckling softly, he waved right back to the Oshawott perched on the girl's shoulder, just the sort of cheery person that got along well with others for the most part. "Please, the pleasure is all mine," he returned, a skillful twist of his fingers earning himself a soft sigh from the Piplup in his lap as she relaxed entirely, obviously forgiving him for his mistake. "Spar and I are... old friends, to put it mildly," he hedged in a reply to her question. "As you might imagine, she sort of... had a lot of stuff that she doesn't like me bringing up now that we're both older, and when I make the mistake of forgetting, she usually gives me a good run for my money in revenge." He leaned back, one hand falling behind him for balance, a thoughtful look on his face. "Y'know, I don't think I've ever known a Nix before..." he murmured pensively, a statement that had Sparkle glancing up at him confusedly, uncertain of where he was going with that train of thought and slightly worried as a result. "Are you new to the area? If you need a place to stay, I have plenty of room, you're more than welcome to take a room." He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, suddenly realizing how perverted that had seemed. "I'm not trying to be creepy, I promise, I just want to make sure you're not living on the streets." Well... he'd just made a fool of himself... or, well, more of one at any rate. Hopefully she'd forgive him for that. Hopefully.

Nix Night

Such a skilled way with words. Nix laughed at her own thoughts mixed with Hibiki's words, he really didn't know when to stop. Though it was nice to meet someone cheery, she could have come across some moody git and had to deal with all that. "Lucky you, me and Bub are new to each other. Its a little worrying, he doesn't know me and i dont know him. Not to mention hes only young, and im used to a whole different pokemon" she said as she looked at the pair. The little female seemed to relax, nix got the firm idea this was something that happened a lot. The other girl just had to learn to deal with it, or rather had tried to and liked paying him back. This idea brought another smirk to nix's face.

Though the rest of the words made nix laugh again, he really wasn't good at this. "I came in on the boat about 2 weeks back, got bub last week and now we have our goal. So yea, new i guess. But don't worry, i'm used to being outside.....i mean good at camping" she said, covering her tracks a little. Really not a good idea to get in to feral childhood and pokemon raised years with someone she had just met, it really didnt seem to make a good idea to her

[Hibiki Tsukiko]

Hibiki chuckled at her reply. "Pffft, yeah, sure, lucky, until you remember that we've had to put up with each other's bad habits for so long that we tend to annoy each other more often than not." Sparkle stuck her tongue out at him childishly, and he thought nothing of returning in kind, more than used to responding that way given that his home was usually full of misfits that he'd taken in, sometimes even lovers who wanted to stay for a while. He then looked back up at Nix, blinking at the words she said as he thought about them. "Well, being young isn't bad either. Spar's pretty young herself, all things considered, and she still gives me a run for my money." The Piplup in his lap preened, glancing up at him as if to confirm that she always would too. "Ah, I wasn't sure they were still taking in boats, what with the shadows having covered Hephaestus and all." He nodded sagely, even if he shrugged, a doubtful look on his face. "It's not about whether or not you're good at camping or used to being outside though," he protested, trying to frame his argument. "It's about whether or not you have some place to be out of the elements." He knew he'd likely failed at that, but well... all the kids that he'd taken in before had been surprisingly willing to get off the streets, whether it was out of gratitude or a want to take advantage of him, but then again, he supposed he'd been extremely lucky with those he'd taken in. All of them hadn't taken advantage of the situation for very long before they'd realized that he wasn't going to kick them out or deny them, so they started slowing down on the requests and demands. He hadn't minded though. He liked having his house noisy, it reassured him that the place was alive, and he liked that. Besides, when he got too exhausted, the boys would usually take him up to bed and pamper him a little, so that more than made up for whatever trouble they caused in his eyes.

Nix Night

Nix listened to the man as he spoke and she tilted her head a little, he did speak understandingly. She did feel rather at ease beside him and that was a rare thing, even bubbles seemed intrested in him now he spoke of the Pokemon. Of course nix was starting to notice bubbles enjoying attention from others but then again, she enjoyed avoiding others so each to their own and such like. "I always had to...camp. I'm good at it, I know how to wind proof a shelter and how to keep the rain out. I can survive under everything life throws me now I have a pokemon to battle back again" she said with confidence. Nix didn't want to be a burden, she hated to think of this nice guy having to deal with feral sounds in her sleep from a room near her or even ripped sheets when her dreams came to haunt her. No, she wouldn't allow herself to be the reason to make this guy unhappy. The fact he had made her feel so comfortable made her think his way of being was something special, or maybe the girl still saw herself as a problem and wanted to distance herself.

She wasn't sure, she just knew she didn't want to be an issue here. This was a new day in a new area, no more old problems! "I wouldn't want to be a burden to you, I'm fresh of the ship and honestly don't know much about anything side pokemon living habits. I don't think I'd get on with anyone very well and I'd keep to myself, not the ideal guest" nix said with a nod of her head, may as well be honest.

Hibiki frowned as Nix kept speaking, his brow furrowing and his expression growing more concerned with every word. "That's not the sort of thing that people should have to learn!" he protested. "I have room in my home and I'm willing to share it so that you don't have to do all of that, so why... why would you pick that option?" He sighed quietly, looking down to stroke Sparkle's feathers, not wanting to look up at her. "I suppose I can't force you to come with me if you don't want to, but you wouldn't be a burden to me. I wouldn't have offered if I wasn't certain that I could handle whatever it is you wanted to throw at me." His fingers paused for a moment before continuing again. "And you don't know unless you try. But like I said, it's not my right to force you." Sparkle chirped softly under the hand of her Trainer and sighed, picking up on his emotions and getting past her irritation to instead nuzzle his hand comfortingly. He chuckled softly and gave her the best smile that he could. "I'm all right, Spar," he mumbled in an undertone, earning a glance from his partner though she didn't disagree with him. He turned his attention back to Nix, giving a smile. "If you ever change your mind though, my door is always open."

Nix Night

Well she hadn't seen that coming. He was so against having to learn to survive wild and at first she nearly snapped at him about it before she realised it was more that he thought it unnecessary when there were other ways of living. She rolled her eyes a little, if she had the chance to live in a home and not under a rock or tree it might be different. Heck being on a boat was a shock to her when that first happened, she could hide under the glass and the rain never got it no matter how windy it got.

But at the same time, she liked being outside. Being trapped on that boat where there was nothing green or no trees was very hard for her for the length of the trip, without another focus she was sure she would have gone mad. No, she liked the challenge that came with her life. She needed to use her own mind to fix her own problems and learn things which she saw as a good thing, having shelter built and food gathered for her wouldn't work. She was sure of it. "I really do appreciate the offer but I don't think I'll take you up on it now, it's just not in my nature." she said with a little smile as she thought what her nature would look like for a moment, amusing. Though she did like this guys company and she was new to this place in general so she found herself hoping there was something else they could do or talk about, though she also knew people had other things to do than talk to her so maybe he'd be leaving now. She hoped not

Hibiki felt a steak of irritation when he saw Nix roll her eyes at him, though he pushed it down, swallowing whatever anger he might have felt from her brushing him off when he only wanted to try to help her. There was no need for anyone to have to sleep outside, especially since he could offer some of his rooms, so why? And even if it was something personal, she didn't have to act like it was the end of the world that he had suggested she lived with him. "Well, open offer," he replied with a slightly forced smile before he shrugged, dismissing the matter as he stroked Sparkle's feathers. He then reached over to offer his hand to the Oshawott, a softer smile on his face. "Hello there... Bubbles was it?" he murmured softly, falling back on what he knew over attempting to continue something that would frustrate him. He loved being around Pokemon, and he wished that he could have spent more time with them in his childhood. "How do you like your new Trainer?" Call him a dork, but he didn't want the Water-type to feel left out just because he was only talking to Nix.

Nix Night

Nix smiled as she noted the boy speak again but she caught the tone of his voice, she had annoyed him. Well that wasn't so good, she wasn't good around other people. Well, humans. She didnt pick up well on signals or on words, she have a very good habit of upsetting people and then not working out how to fix it. Though it seemed Hibiki was moving past the issue though as he reached out to bubbles, the little pokemon shifted a little on his trainers shoulder and nix chuckled softly. She reached up and then flicked her shoulder out and the little otter dropped down, he fell in to her out reached arms with a little mew of shocked followed very quickly by a giggle.

The little otter reached out to the boy and started talking in answer to his question, he didnt know nix well and he didnt think they were very close but she was a good person and she cared about him. He hoped they could be good freinds, it just would take a little time to work it all out. Though she did make very good berry food mixes. This was another thought that made the little thing laugh and then his eyes widened, humans wouldnt know what he was even saying! He gave a little frown as this thought really sunk it before he gave a glance to the other water type, maybe she caught some of that and could give it over to her trainer some how

Hibiki straightened slightly when he saw the Oshawott starting to fall, arms twitching to try to catch the other Water-type before he realized that it wasn't necessary, she had already caught the little otter in her arms. He relaxed at the sight, a smile blooming over his face as he reached over to stroke between the Water-type's ears, nodding as he listened to the other Pokemon chatter on. He may not have been able to understand the words that were coming out of the Water-type's mouth, not in his current form, but that didn't mean that he couldn't understand that the Pokemon seemed quite happy as it chattered to him. When the Oshawott paused, he chuckled and grinned. "I'm glad to hear that you like her so much," he replied cheerfully. And how did he understand that the otter wasn't ranting about how bad the girl was? Well, to that end, his experiences with Sparkle were some of his best friends. The Piplup may have enjoyed harrying him when he was acting up, yes, but she'd also taught him a lot about how Pokemon would act and sound when they weren't happy, and the other Water-type was certainly not doing that. He seemed pleased enough, so he had a feeling that he wasn't throwing Nix under the bus. "He's a good Pokemon," he stated to the redhead, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Good hearted and he obviously likes you. Try to keep him at your side, it'd be a shame to lose a friend like that."

Nix Night

Nix held bubble closes against her as he spoke before the pokemon stopped and she looked down at him, so many times in her life she had wished to be able to speak to pokemon. She had learnt of course some things, good moods, bad moods, what to eat and where to drink but she didn't know their language. She heard the male speak and she looked up at him and then gave a little smile as the one she saw trying to get on to his face, it was nice to hear that from someone. She had guessed bubbles did like her and he did think of good things when it came to her but she had no way of knowing of course, not that the girl knew yet that she and bubbles would be able to talk when she changed form but she wasnt there yet so maybe that could come later
