HISTORY & POKEMORPH
Hibiki was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. The youngest son of two upper-class parents, he spent much of his childhood chasing after his older brother around the isle of Morpheus and being told to be just like the elder. When he was eight, his brother took him out to catch his partner, a young Piplup that has stayed by his side ever since. His parents were thrilled with the prospect, hopeful that they could ship him off to one of the main regions so that he could become a Gym Leader or a member of the Elite Four one day. As he grew older, however, they steadily became more concerned as he displayed no inclination to go out and capture more Pokemon, or even train the sole one he had, and this concern soon manifested itself as disapproval and chastising. And then, when he was thirteen and his brother was away, he yelled at his parents that the Piplup wasn't even his, his brother had caught it for him and given it to him so that he wouldn't disappoint their parents. As might be imagined, that tidbit of information was not taken even remotely well, and he was more or less considered the failure of the family. Wandering around inside the mansion that he lived in, utterly alone and avoided by everyone, soon became his lot in life. His parents had no time for him, his brother was off in one of the regions, and the servants had been forbidden to speak to him casually. It was almost enough to make him break, and then there was a way out. While he was in school, there was a slightly older boy who treated him kindly and didn't seem to give a damn about the fact that he couldn't train Pokemon to save his life nor that he was from a rich family. The pair soon became fast friends, but before he knew it, the younger soon found himself falling head over heels for the elder. After agonizing over his feelings for what he thought was a lifetime, he finally confessed to the other, sheepishly, awkwardly, and with his heart on the line. The other boy laughed it off, thinking it was a joke. Hurt, Hibiki ran away, shame flooding himself and only coming back after a week, the sixteen year old much more subdued than he was before. He would agree to what his parents said, and when males would ask him out for a drink, he would accept. It was at seventeen that he realized he was at his lowest point, letting others treat him worse than garbage, and the resulting self-disgust was enough to propel him into cleaning himself up and graduating on time. He felt the urge to fall back into his old habits of seeking comfort in the arms of another, sometimes multiple others, but instead he persisted, and his parents, overjoyed that their son had finally come to his senses, gifted him with a mansion on Morpheus. He accepted it, but it didn't make him happy. What made him happy was studying the habits of the Pokemon on the islands he called home. Why did certain Pokemon make appearances in parts of the islands, but not others? Why did some species manage to reproduce so often, and others barely at all? It captivated his interest, and it was that enthusiasm that first attracted him to the Dream Institute. At the age of twenty, he finally worked up the courage to apply as an intern, and as soon as he'd obtained the position, he told his parents that this was what he wanted to do with his life; he also told them the other secret he was keeping, that he had opened the doors of his home to those less fortunate, and he was in love with more than just one of the males who lived with him. The pair exploded at the latest slight from their youngest, but then Hibiki's elder brother stepped in. He told his parents to lay off his little brother, to let him live the best way that he knew how, and after a heated argument, finally the pair agreed. But just in time for peace to return to the Tsukiko household, the world went to hell. As more and more towns were lost to shadow, people began to relocate to the Romantic isles, and Hibiki had more work. He was reassigned from his job observing Pokemon as the shadows began to intrude, and instead he was tasked with finding the truth about the newly-dubbed 'Pokemorphs'. He still takes in those who need help, and he works tirelessly with the task he's been assigned, but he still dreams of the day that the curtain of shadow will be pushed back forever so that he can go back to doing what he does best, finding love and happiness in places few think to look for them... | Vaporeon Water Water Absorb Kuroya Eighteen |
