With an air of confidence Sam strolled through the area, not minding the cold one bit. Being a Fire type definitely had its advantages, one being high tolerance towards cold and heat alike. Though, he liked heat better since his Flying type nature also made his tolerance to cold lower than most other Fire types. Which was why he was more than happy to share his body heat with Pippa the Swablu, since she was part Flying type as well. This outing would be a great time to train to build up her strength, as well as his own, while earning some sort of prize in exchange for being unable to catch any of the Pokemon here. It made Sam sad, that fact, but there was nothing he can do about that. At least, when he has collected enough of the dropped prizes he can exchange them for a Pokemon.

Sam looked around, keeping his senses on the alert for any attacks. “Keep close, Pippa, I have a feeling we’re going to have company real soon.” She chirped her understanding, coming out of his coat some to look out for an attack also. Everything seemed quiet this cold day, perfect for something to come crawling out of the woodworks. Sam continued to walk, mostly so he was doing something besides waiting for the inevitable. Pippa chirped a joke, always ready to make light of a situation. Sam chuckled easily, amused by her playfulness. Sam prayed that she would never change, even after she has evolved.

A HOLIDAY POKEMON HAS APPEARED!

CHINCHOU WATER / ELECTRIC MALE VOLT ABSORB LEVEL 8 WATER GUN SUPERSONIC THUNDER WAVE -- -- -- -- --

Chinchou yawned, his little blinker lights flashing quietly in the dark water. He was a little cold, but thankfully, the waters that were around the Isle of Festiva, while frozen over, were actually quite warm once you got past the ice. All in all, it was quite a comfortable situation to be in, all things considered, especially considering that he'd heard there were Snover and Abomasnow up there freezing everything right and left, not to mention some Sawsbuck and Deerling that would smash up the ice with their hooves and try to drink the water. He felt bad for them, as he always would whenever he thought about the outside world, but that always made him curious. What was it like? He didn't get much interaction with them outside of when one of them would come to get something to drink and they were willing to talk to him if he asked, which was rare. Most of them were too wary, and they'd attack him on the spot. Inhaling deeply for courage, he puffed himself up and blasted a strong stream of water out of his mouth, followed by a wave of sound that was strong enough to make a little hole in the ice. Lights blinking again, he worked harder, shooting out another couple of waves until the hole was large enough for him to propel himself up out of the water, landing on the ice with a soft plop. It was cold out, yes, something that made him shiver from the loss of heat as the water froze on his skin, but he wiggled his fins and started pushing himself along the ice to the shoreline. Maybe, if he was lucky, he'd get to talk to someone, and it'd all be worth it. He wouldn't mind the cold if it meant he had some new experience, he decided it would all be worth it. All of it.
