QUESTIONS,

PRESENTED BY PROFESSOR SYCAMORE
"Bonjour, my pretties, don't you all look bon petit today! Juniper has asked me to help clear up some of the more common questions that might be asked, so be sure to listen up, okay? Question:: What is a Pokemorph? - I've heard a few other names for it, including Gijinka, but I picked 'Pokemorph' because they specifically change into the Pokemon they are matched with. Basically a Pokemorph is a Pokemon in human form with Pokemon abilities and move sets. Question:: Is it possible to make a human? - Humans are not able to be made on the site; the closest thing to a human that someone could play would be someone who doesn't use their Pokemorph abilities for one reason or another. If you go this route, I do ask that you pick an "unpopular" Pokemon so that the more popular species don't get clogged up with people not intending to use them. Question:: Can I make a legendary Pokemorph? - Legendary Pokemon are not currently offered to be made. Similarly, Legendaries have not made appearances in the region since the area has fallen to shadow, so you can't catch any either. Sorry! Question:: Can my Pokemorph have wings/ears/tail/horns? - No. You can make the extra appendages an "oddity" that they like to wear, but aside from that, extra animal appendages are not allowed, and other characters will not likely respond positively to such a thing. Question:: Is this Pokemon a good match for this faceclaim? - If the hair colors are at least fairly similar, the chances are that you'll get the Pokemon. While it is by all means a subjective science, if you are ever in doubt, feel free to ask a staff member, we'd be happy to assure you that it is or help you find a new one if it's not! Question:: Can a Pokemorph understand a Pokemon's speech? - When in human form, no, the Trainer will not understand a Pokemon regardless of the types or species involved. However, when in Pokemon form, a Trainer will perfectly understand the nearby Pokemon, which is the only way Pokemon can be understood by a Pokemorph. Question:: What are the member groups and how are they determined? - The member groups are Baby, Basic, Stage One, and Stage Two. It is determined by the evolution level of the Pokemorph species. Hence, a Magby would be a Baby, a Pikachu a Basic, a Quilava a Stage One, and a Tyranitar a Stage Two. A Pokemon such as a Roserade, despite being a third evo, would be a Stage One, as would a Lucario, since the levels all progress from each other much in the way that the card game does. So if it helps to think about it like that, then use that, okay? If you're still in doubt, feel free to ask a staff member for help. Question:: Why is there a move limit for naturally learned moves but not TMs or HMs? - A move limit would make more sense in any case. However, given that the TMs and HMs don't break, it would just allow people to teach and re-teach moves to their Pokemon, so it was easier to just put a limit on the moves learned by level or the move tutor and call it a day! Question:: My Pokemon/Pokemorph doesn't have a moveset listed yet for X and Y, what do I do? - Excellent question! For the moment, just use the BW2 movesets. Staff will tell you when these movesets are available, so until then, don't worry about it, okay? Question:: I have more than six Pokemon, what happens to the others when I thread? - I know, most of you are probably groaning at this one, but it had to be addressed! You basically get to select which Pokemon you use at the beginning of every thread; if you have less than six, the Pokemon you catch are added to your party with the "seventh" being sent to the PC immediately upon capture. Thus, you can have a thread with one party and two other threads with different parties. Question:: What is the benefit of lighting areas? Why can't they just stay in shadow forever? - Good question, mon chere! Some of the benefits to having an area in shadow are superior to returning it to light. Shadow area Pokemon can be "friendly captured", light shards drop from everything, and rare Pokemon are easier to find. However, lightened areas have certain Pokemon that only appear after light has returned to the area, shiny Pokemon are more easy to find, and rare Pokemon occasionally swarm. Not to mention that the next island is not available until each progressive island before it has been returned to the light, so if you want more 'mon (and the possibility of a gym system and Elite Four), you have to lighten areas! Question:: Why are there no Pokemon from Kalos found through modding, yet they're offered in shops and able to be Pokemorphs? - Since the Pokemon use the X/Y movesets, we do intend on releasing Kalos Pokemon at some point. Right now the only thing standing in our way is a lack of shiny sprites. As soon as we get some shiny sprites, Kalos 'mon will be moddable! Question:: Why can't I catch Pokemon on the isle of Morpheus? - There are no Pokemon on Morpheus aside from those already captured. Wild Pokemon aren't fond of the island, never have been, so there simply are not wild Pokemon to capture there. Sorry! Question:: If I'm modding in an area that's in shadow and the area is brought back to light, what happens? - Everything continues just as if you were in shadow. We will honor that time frame with the exception that following the capture of the current 'mon, the mod thread then ends. You are welcome to make a new one for the lightened area however, and threads with other characters will continue as through they are still in shadow at the discretion of the people in the threads. Question:: Professor Sycamore, can you check out my Pokemon? - Ah, I'm sorry, mon petit, but I cannot. I have to work with Juniper to help her find the solution to this mess, so with that I must bid you adieu! (This was last updated on 11/9) | |
